Forgive me for the repetition of theme this week.
But I am concerned that I do not have an adequate theology of suffering,
and am working hard to fill my mind with good and deep thoughts
on the topic.
So, here is an incredible bit of writing from the
queen of grief,
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross:
"The most beautiful people we have known
are those who have known defeat,
known suffering,
known loss,
and have found their way
out of the depths.
These persons have an appreciation,
a sensitivity and an understanding of life
that fills them with compassion,
gentleness,
and a deep, loving concern.
Beautiful people do not just happen."
