A dear friend text me last weekend with an invitation of a lifetime - Would I join her and a few other spectacular women to walk part of the Camino de Santiago trail in Spain?
I was just sitting down to a warm cup of coffee and a lazy Saturday morning when my phone pinged with this invitation.
I am not a great traveler; just ask my family.
I am a sporadic sleeper, I get grumpy pretty quickly, I have a few middle-aged medical issues. I am what my friends might call a "precious little pearl of a high-maintenance person."
Of course, given these limitations, I should say no.
But something about this particular invitation sparked joy in my soul.
A pilgrimage? To Spain? With some of my favorite, strong, interesting, hilarious women?
I read the text invitation to my husband of 35 years who intimately knows my traveling weaknesses.
He looked me dead in the eye and said, "You must say yes."
So, I said YES. I jumped.
April 15-25 I am traveling to Spain to walk part of one of the most famous pilgrimages in the world.
Stay tuned for updates as I begin my training regimen.
This precious pearl is going on an adventure!
