Friends, if you live in or near the Cedar Valley, I want to personally invite you to a beautiful event happening soon.
Blake Flattley and Tanner Olson are from Nashville and are bringing their music, poetry and joy to the area on September 21st. You can read more about them here and here and here. I am so excited to meet them and experience their creative gifts.
For those of you who are fans of the author and liturgist Kayla Craig, she will be part of the event, too, sharing some of her gorgeous liturgies about parenting and life, blessing us with her presence and wisdom. You can read more about her here. I bet she'll have some books available for purchase and signing?? Stay tuned on that.
We live in a frenzied world, a world where things feel so uncertain these days, where wars and conflict reign, where loneliness has become an epidemic, where people all too often feel lost and unseen, where rest is nowhere to be found.
One night cannot, of course, solve all of those issues. But it can be a place of respite and rest and community and hope. That is our prayer for this evening.
So, join us, if you can - Saturday night, September 21st at 6:30 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, Iowa - 1301 Kimball Avenue.
I hope to see you there and share a hug, a smile, a moment of peace in crazy world.
Wish I could join you for that evening of hopeful music and messages. We will be gone on a lovely trip around Lake Superior.
