as for brave American soldiers.

The kind of faith that

weeps as much for Palestinian children buried in rubble

as for Israeli worshippers killed at worship.

The kind of faith that

pleads as much for wisdom from Ayatollahs

as for leaders of my own government.

God, grant me the kind of faith that will always find war unfathomable.

Protect the innocent.

Preserve the peacekeepers

Empower the powerless.

God, have mercy

for we know not what we do.
